Saturday's JamFest 2010 in Edgewater a big hit with music fans

Uncle Kracker takes the stage Saturday at the JamFest 2010 at the sprawling Edgewater Ranch as part of Biketoberfest weekend and more specifically as a fundraiser to support the fallen in the military.

EDGEWATER -- It wasn't Woodstock, but with the talented bands and performers, Saturday's JamFest 2010 was a rockin' success at the 100-acre Edgewater Ranch just south of New Smyrna Beach, right off of interstate I-95 and S.R. 442.

Matt Clancy is tickled pink to see so many people flock to Clancy's Restaurant and Catina, as well as flooding myriad other eateries and shops.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Several thousand people descended on Flagler Avenue for Thursday's third annual NSB Shrimp and Seafood Festival and nobody had a bigger smile than Matt Clancy, of the family-owned Clancy's Restaurant and Cantina.

"Look at all of these people -- this is incredible,"Clancy said, as people rubbed elbows inside the popular Tex-Mex style eatery, with even more on the outside patio and on the front and east sides of the building.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Some 35,000 to 40,000 people flocked to the Images art festival over the weekend, local architect Gerard J. Pendergast estimated during the waning hours Sunday, despite rain on Saturday and the colder weather Sunday.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- City Commissioner Jim Hathaway and his wife were among thousands of people to stroll the eastern end of Canal Street and Riverside Drive for the IMAGES art festival, the chief fundraiser for the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
