Edgewater Library hosts genealogy programs
EDGEWATER -- The Edgewater Public Library will host a two-part genealogy program for beginners in February and March. The program is for people who want to learn how to research their family roots.
Part one will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, and will cover what you need to know about vital records, the census, pedigree sheets, and computer programs for organizing research information.
Part two - set for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6 - will explain how to access wills and probate records, land records and passenger lists. Participants will learn what to look for, the value of research, city
sources, and finding ancestors on the Internet.
The program will be presented by the Genealogy Society of Southeast Volusia County. Pre-registration is required and may be made by calling (386) 424-2916.
The library is open Monday through Saturday at 103 Indian River Blvd.
