Sally Smith, general manager of Denny's restaurant in New Smyrna Beach.NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Sally Smith, general manager at Denny's restaurant on State Road 44, was all smiles with a packed house for Saturday breakfast and lunch.

That's because NASCAR fans in town for the holiday weekend races at Daytona International Speedway looking to stretch their dollars in this tough economy sought out affordable family restaurants like Denny's.

While her restaurant is typically filled with locals any way, Smith was more than please to accommodate an overflowing crowd.

"With the (Coke Zero 400) race it's great," said Smith, with seven servers and several cooks constantly on their feet. "It's a big weekend all around."
