New Smyrna Beach Library offers free classes for adults in December

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Want to learn computer basics? The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library will offer free computer workshops and a DVD learning course in December.

Upcoming programs include:

● Computer basics at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. This lecture-based workshop is for people with little or no computer experience who would like to learn about the physical components of a computer, get acquainted with terminology, and learn a few basic Internet searching tips. Registration is required.

● E-mail and attachments at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14. Learn how to get a free e-mail address, compose e-mails, add pictures and documents, and more in this lecture-based workshop. Registration is required.

● The myths of nutrition and fitness at 2 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 1, 8 and 15. During each one-hour televised session, Anthony Goodman, an adjunct professor of medicine at Montana State University, will discuss the relationships among dietary practices, exercise and overall fitness. This DVD learning course also examines the pros and cons of various training and diet regimens and how to manage individual health needs and goals. Registration is not required.

The programs will be held in the auditorium. For more information or to register for the computer workshops, stop by the reference desk or call 386-424-2910, ext. 104. The DVD learning course is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
