OAK HILL -- The New Year is a time to reflect on actions of the past and corrections in the future. I don't make resolutions because I always break them by February, but I am looking forward to positive happenings in Oak Hill in 2012.

We have obtained a grant that will provide needed repairs to homes in the city and in turn will provide jobs for contractors and workers in the building industry. We are listed in Florida Trails and Scenic Byways, which should intice hikers and bikers to pass through our city and maybe spend a little money here.

Taxes are less than last year, and hopefully, will be even less in the coming year. We are geared to have a much brighter future in 2012 and I want to wish everyone a happy, prosperous and healthy New Year.

NSBNews.net is Florida's first fully-online 24/7 Internet newspaper launched April 7, 2008, and based in New Smyrna Beach. It is led by award-winning journalist Henry Frederick and award-winning blogger Peter Mallory with emphasis on breaking news, news of record and investigative reporting here and across the Sunshine State.
