No. 1: U.S. Navy Seals take out Osama bin Laden

May 2, 2011, may not be rembered as much as Sept. 11, but Osama bin Laden didn't get to rejoice on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks he masterminded. That's because American Navy Seals took him out.

Bin Laden was shot to death. Payback is a son-of a-bitch.

The order was given by President Obama and the CIA carried it out with a team of Navy Seals in a daring operation across the Afghan border into Pakistan.

Bin Laden's death was met with rejoice across America, but opinion was split elsewhere.

Here is how Wikipedia describes the aftermath: "Bin Laden's killing was generally favorably received by U.S. public opinion;was welcomed by the United Nations, NATO, the European Union, and a large number of governments; but was condemned by some, including Fidel Castro of Cuba and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas administration of the Gaza Strip. Legal and ethical aspects of the killing, such as his not being taken alive despite being unarmed, were questioned by others, including Amnesty International."

Bin Laden was armed; this was war and the end result speaks volumes about America's resolve to eliminate evil.

Unlike the al-qaeda terrorists who drag the bodies of their captors through the streets, Bin Laden was given a proper burial: After transporting his body back to Afghanistan, then buried it at sea within 24 hours of his killing.
