Its exam week at New Smyrna Beach High School and the stress is getting to most students. We’ve been preparing for the tests, but the pressure is still present. Our schedule is very different this week; we have Friday off as a time for teachers to put in report card grades. Monday is a normal day however, it is the only one.

After a great mini-Thanksgiving vacation with a friend, practicing for the school play that I’m in, studying for semester exams, and dealing with the stacks of homework, I’m ready for a weekend to sleep. That’s right; the semester at New Smyrna Beach High School is almost over as the school year hits its half way mark.

With the first grading quarter over and the second already halfway through, high school is proving to be better than expected. Although a big transition going from middle to high school, many are happier to be in a new environment with more maturity and responsibility. I think your high school years are definitely the ones you are going to remember and I plan on making the best of them.
