Dr. Richard "Rick" Martorano lives in New Smyrna Beach with his wife, Ann, and is a lifelong entertainer, composer and director.

Biography

Dr. Richard "Rick" Martorano lives in New Smyrna Beach with his wife, Ann,
and is a lifelong entertainer, composer and director. While attending
Hollywood Professional School as a teenager at ABC Television in
Hollywood, he worked as a rehearsal pianist for the Lawrence Welk TV Show,
having learned how to play at age 5. After a two year enlistment in the
Navy,
Dr. Martorano received his bachelor's and master's degrees in music
composition from Florida State University. He later earned a master's
degree in music education from Rollins College, a doctorate degree in
music and broadcast communications from California Western University and
completed a post-graduate fellowship at the California Institute of the
Arts. Dr. Martorano has served as adjunct faculty in the performing arts,
humanities and mass communications at Daytona Beach Community College,
Florida State University, Florida Technological University and Rollins
College. He has taught privately throughout his career and has touched
hundreds of students and countless people in the arts community with his
professional theater performances, such as "Bye, Bye, Birdie," "Oliver,"
"The King and I" and "Jesus Christ Superstar."
